Frequently Asked Questions
A: Absolutely YES! We welcome all fitness levels, from absolute beginners to seasoned athletes. Many of our members started with us never having lifted a weight before. Our trainers will customize workouts to your level and teach you everything step by step. No intimidation, no judgment – promise.
A: The free consultation is a no-pressure meet-and-greet with one of our coaches, about 30 minutes. We’ll chat about your goals, any challenges, and what you’re looking for (weight loss? more energy? building muscle? etc.). We’ll also show you around the gym. If you’re up for it, we can do a quick fitness assessment or sample workout (nothing too intense, unless you want it!). The idea is to give you a taste of AMPT and for us to recommend the best program for you. And yes – it’s truly free, no strings attached.
A: We offer several packages and options, and we customize programs, so it can vary. But to give you an idea: we have monthly memberships that include a certain number of personal training sessions and/or class access, class packs (e.g., 10-class punch cards), and pay-as-you-go options. For example, group classes might average around $15–$20 each (with package discounts), and personal training packages depend on frequency (like 1x week vs. 3x week). We also run periodic specials (like a “6-Week Jumpstart” package). The best way to get exact pricing is to contact us with your needs – we’ll be transparent and find something that fits your budget. (We can also link to a Pricing page if available.)
A: Yes, we provide basic nutritional guidance as part of our holistic approach. We’re not going to slap you with a strict meal plan, but our coaches (some are certified nutrition coaches) will help you with general guidelines, habit coaching (like improving water intake, balanced meals, etc.), and even share healthy recipes. We occasionally run nutrition challenges or workshops too. For more in-depth dietary plans, we can refer you to a registered dietitian partner. The bottom line: we’ll help you fuel your body right as part of your overall wellness journey.
A: It really depends on your goals and schedule, but a common sweet spot is ~3 times per week for structured workouts. Many clients do 2–3 personal training sessions weekly, or a mix of PT and classes. That said, even 1–2 times a week is a great start if that’s what you can do – consistency is what counts most. We’ll help you figure out a routine (including any “homework” or independent activities) that fits your life. Quality over quantity!
A: First, know that feeling nervous is completely normal – and we totally understand. Nearly everyone has some jitters when they start something new, especially fitness. Our advice: just take the first small step. Maybe that’s scheduling a visit or a class, or even just dropping by to watch a session. You’ll quickly realize we’re a friendly bunch. We keep a non-intimidating atmosphere (you’ll notice we don’t have mirrors everywhere or any meathead culture). Everyone was a beginner once, and we haven’t forgotten that. Remember, you don’t need to “get in shape” before coming to us – coming to us is how you get in shape. We’ll support you 100% from day one.
A: Wear comfortable workout clothes (T-shirt or tank, shorts or leggings, and proper athletic shoes). For a class or training session, bring a water bottle and maybe a small towel if you tend to sweat. If you have any must-have items like an inhaler, knee brace, or orthotics, bring those and let your coach know. We have all the equipment you’ll need here, so no need to bring any gear. And don’t worry about a thing – just come as you are. Bring a positive attitude if you can, but if you’re too nervous to be optimistic, we’ve got plenty of positivity to share!
A: Currently, we’re primarily a coaching facility – meaning most clients come for sessions or classes with our trainers. We do have some open gym times for members (check our Schedule for those hours). If you’re interested in an open-gym-only membership, talk to us; we do offer limited slots for independent gym access, typically for folks who also train with us in some capacity. Our focus is on guided training, but we won’t turn away a motivated self-starter who wants to be part of our community.
A: We keep it straightforward. For personal training, we ask for 12–24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule, to avoid being charged for that session. We’re flexible – we know emergencies happen – just keep communication open and let your trainer know as soon as possible. For classes, you can usually cancel up to a few hours before without penalty (and it frees up a spot for someone on the waitlist). All the fine print will be in your membership agreement, but in general, we’re pretty chill and will work with you if something unexpected comes up.
A: We have clean restrooms and a private changing room. While we don’t have full locker room facilities or showers (our space is more boutique-style), we do provide cubbies for your belongings during your workout and a small vanity area with toiletries if you need to freshen up. Many members who live or work nearby just shower at home or the office after their workout. If a mid-day shower is a must for you, let us know – we might be able to arrange something with a partner facility next door.
A: When you join, we’ll add you to our email list (and optional text alerts). We send out newsletters with upcoming events, challenges, and any schedule changes or holiday hours. You can also follow us on social media for real-time updates. And of course, you can always ask a coach when you’re in the gym – we love sharing what’s coming up and making sure you’re in the loop!
