Pain Management
Holistic training to overcome pain and prevent injuries.
Pain changes everything. It can turn a simple activity like climbing stairs or playing with your kids into a daunting challenge. At AMPT, we firmly believe that pain should not be a life sentence. Whether you’re dealing with nagging lower back pain, achy knees, recovering from an injury, or managing a chronic condition, our Pain Management program is here to help.
We combine corrective exercise, strength training, and mindful practices to address pain at its source. The goal isn’t just to relieve the symptom for a day – it’s to fix the root causes so you can get back to doing what you love, without fear of hurting yourself. Ultimately, we want to improve your quality of life, not just temporarily ease your pain.

Our Philosophy on Pain
Your body is an interconnected system. Often, pain or dysfunction in one area stems from an imbalance or weakness elsewhere. (For example, knee pain might originate from tight hips and weak glutes; back pain might be due to a sedentary lifestyle and core instability.) Instead of just putting a band-aid on the pain, we look holistically at your movement patterns to find the underlying issue.
Our program’s motto is: “Assess, Don’t Guess.” We’ll evaluate how you move, pinpoint trouble areas, and create a plan to correct them over time. And because we integrate mindfulness, we also address the fear and frustration that come with chronic pain. Many clients tell us they feel more optimistic and in control after just a few sessions, because they finally have a path forward.

What’s Included
1. Comprehensive Assessment
We start by listening to you. What hurts, when does it hurt, and what makes it better or worse? Then we do a physical assessment: posture analysis, range-of-motion tests, and simple functional movements (like a squat or arm raise) to see where there may be limitations or imbalances.
2. Customized Corrective Exercise
Based on what we find, we’ll design a routine of targeted exercises. These might include stretches for tight muscles, strengthening moves for weak ones, and motor control drills. For example, if you have lower back pain, you might do core stabilization exercises and hip mobility work. If you have shoulder pain, expect rotator cuff strengthening and posture exercises.
3. Gradual Strength Building
As pain reduces, we gently introduce more traditional strength and fitness exercises to rebuild your overall resilience. Building muscle in key areas – especially the core, hips, and back – can alleviate chronic pain by improving support for your body. Don’t worry, we’ll go at your pace. The idea is to progress from rehabilitative exercises to full-body functional fitness so you stay pain-free.
4. Manual Therapy & Mobility
Some of our coaches are skilled in basic hands-on release techniques or assisted stretching. We may also use tools like foam rollers, massage balls, or resistance bands to help release tension. If you opt for our specialized bodywork services (massage therapy sessions), those can be a great complement to your training – loosening tight tissues and speeding up recovery.
5. Mindfulness & Breathwork
Pain isn’t just physical; it’s emotional too. We teach breathing exercises and mindfulness techniques that can reduce pain perception and improve coping. Simple practices like deep diaphragmatic breathing or guided meditation can calm the nervous system and decrease the “stress signal” pain sends to your brain. This helps break the pain-anxiety-tension cycle that many chronic pain sufferers experience.
SUCCESS STORIES
Others’ Results
“I’d tried every program out there and nothing stuck. AMPT was different – my coach kept me accountable and actually made workouts fun. In 6 months I lost 25 pounds, but more importantly I gained strength and confidence. I can chase my kids around without getting winded, and I love the way I feel. Thank you AMPT for helping me change my life!”

“After 5 years of chronic back pain, I had tried everything – chiropractors, pain meds, you name it. I was skeptical about working out because I was afraid of getting hurt. The AMPT team understood my fears and worked with me gently. They found muscle imbalances I never knew I had. Within a few weeks of doing the core and hip exercises they gave me, I noticed a difference. Three months later, I could deadlift 50 lbs without pain – something I never imagined. I’m now virtually pain-free in daily life. More than the physical strength, AMPT gave me confidence in my body again.”

Your Journey
Getting Started
We always obtain medical clearance if needed, and we have experience working with a range of issues (from herniated discs to arthritis). We start slow and ensure every movement is pain-free and within any guidelines your healthcare provider has given. Your safety is our top priority.
We want you to tell us immediately. We’ll modify or stop anything that hurts. Some muscle discomfort (like soreness) can be normal, but sharp pain is not. We adjust on the fly; there are always alternatives. Your body’s feedback guides the session.
This varies, but many clients report improvements within 2–4 weeks of consistent training. Significant, lasting change might take a few months. Remember, it likely took years for your issue to develop – but with patience, we can undo it step by step. We’ll set benchmarks so you can see progress, even if it’s small (like 10° more shoulder mobility, or being able to stand for 30 minutes instead of 10).
We’re optimistic and will do everything we can to help you regain function. Many clients not only return to “normal” but become stronger and more capable than before. That said, everyone’s situation is unique. We’ll be honest about what to expect and can work alongside your doctors or physical therapists. Our ultimate aim is to give you your freedom back – whether that’s golfing, picking up your grandchild, or simply living without that constant ache.
You don’t have to accept pain as your “new normal.” Let’s work together to build a stronger, pain-free you.
