Sometimes, you just want to do your own thing at the gym – set your pace, follow your program, blast your music on headphones, and get in the zone. Our Open Gym Access membership gives you the freedom to use our facility when you want, how you want, while still enjoying the positive, supportive atmosphere that sets AMPT apart from any big-box gym.
It’s like having your own personal workout playground, minus the crowds and intimidation. Whether you’re an experienced lifter who just needs a great space or a newbie who likes to practice workouts independently between training sessions, Open Gym Access is the key to making our gym YOUR gym.

What’s Included
With Open Gym Access, you can come to AMPT during designated open hours and utilize all the equipment and amenities freely. We pride ourselves on a clean, well-organized space with top-notch gear for all your functional fitness needs: free weights (dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells with plenty of plates), cardio machines, squat racks, pull-up bars, resistance bands, medicine balls, mats for stretching or yoga – you name it. We also have some more specialized tools you won’t find everywhere, like foam rollers and mobility tools (perfect for a warm-up or cooldown, since we’re big on recovery), and a quiet corner that can be used for meditation or breathwork if you want to incorporate some mindfulness after your workout.
The environment is inclusive and safe. Even though you’re doing your own workout, our staff is usually around and always happy to help if you need a spotter or a quick tip (think of it as having a safety net of experts close by). And of course, you’ll be sharing the space with fellow AMPT members who are friendly and respectful. That sense of community – a nod, a smile, maybe a “you got this!” during a tough lift – is still very much alive during open gym hours. We maintain a limited capacity for Open Gym at any given time to ensure it never feels overcrowded like commercial gyms. You’ll have space to move and breathe.
Who is it for? Open Gym Access is great for self-driven individuals. Maybe you’ve learned a lot from our trainers or classes and feel confident crafting your own workouts now. Maybe you have a specific program (like a powerlifting or CrossFit routine) you follow independently. Or you simply value the flexibility of coming in whenever you can squeeze a workout in, without being tied to class schedules. It’s also a nice add-on for class-goers or training clients who want extra days to practice skills or do supplemental workouts (like an extra cardio day or mobility session). Beginners are welcome too – you might start by using cardio equipment or doing basic exercises on your own, and knowing help is nearby if needed gives peace of mind.

Join our gym community with a quick and easy membership sign-up. Once you’re in, you’ll have the freedom to use our facilities and become part of the AMPT family.

Orientation
On your first visit, we’ll give you a friendly tour and show you how to use key equipment safely. You’ll meet our staff and learn the gym guidelines, so you feel welcome and confident from day one.

AMPT is proudly located in the heart of Savannah’s West Broad neighborhood at 411 W. Charlton St., Unit A, Savannah, GA 31401 – a historic area that’s as vibrant as our gym’s murals. We chose this location because we believe in community, and we love being part of this one. (Plus, there’s free parking in the West Broad lot, so you can focus on your workout, not worry about the meter.) Our space is designed to make you feel at home – from the friendly front-desk greetings to our resident gym dog occasionally wandering over for a belly rub! Come by for a visit and you’ll see why so many in Savannah have made AMPT their fitness family.
